The Science behind DignitE's Services

DignitE's use of use of electronic notifications to improve the taking of medicines has been validated across several studies.

Use of electronic medication reminders has an intrinsic worth as we all forget to consume medication once in a while, no matter what condition we have.  However, logically it seems to make sense that those with an impaired mental capability be supported with ongoing medication reminders.

A literature review by Vervloet et al in 2012 analysed 13 previous studies utilising various methods of electronic reminder, the results of which found that electronic reminders were effective in improving patients' adherence to their medication regimen.  The full text of the literature review and associated studies can be viewed from this link:

The effectiveness of interventions using electronic reminders to improve adherence to chronic medication: a systematic review of the literature (Vervloet et al 2012)

It therefore further holds that electronic reminders have a place in reminding patients with regard to other activities of daily living.
